The ART PAPERS Art Auction is the publication’s annual gala, and their major opportunity to fundraise for the programming they do throughout the year. It’s a way to showcase established and up and coming artists, to thank donors, and to introduce new fans to this art community. All in all, it’s a pretty big deal!

I worked with ART PAPERS to develop the entire look and feel for this event, from initial design to day-of install and event follow-up.

The 22nd auction took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, in early 2021. Some people were gathering in person again, but out of an abundance of caution, ART PAPERS chose to host the entire event virtually (as many organizations were doing throughout this period). With that in mind, we followed a theme of Wizard of Oz, as a grand showcase you’re watching unfold.

The asks for this event were considerably different than in previous years; we had to develop live video assets, welcome kits to be sent to sponsors, and a variety of interactive elements (like AR filters) to support the event.
