Inspired by the collection I posted a few days ago, I decided to play around and make my own versions. As I worked, I realized this is similar to this concept I’ve been chasing for years—projecting fabric patterns on to white clothing, to create moving patterns (since fabric design is static).
I love to fiddle with type, layer it every which way and see what patterns emerge. I love playing with color, pairing hues together and seeing which ones pop. Every now and then I get stuck (in a good way) on a simple typographic element and can’t quit until I’ve tried all kinds of variations. Today’s was the ampersand:
